Newsletter 23rd November 2018

23rd November 2018

Dear Parents/Carers

As the festive season quickly approaches I have a few more dates for your diaries.

Casual Clothes Day

Friday 30th November is Casual Clothes Day – we ask all pupils to ‘Bring a Bottle’ for our Christmas Tombola bottle stall. Please bring full bottles to classrooms on Casual Clothes Day – sauce, wine, shampoo, spirits, soft drinks etc.

Christmas Fair

On Friday 7th December  we will hold our Annual Christmas Fair 3.15pm to 5pm. Lots of stalls, tombola, Santa’s Grotto, face painting, seasonal games, refreshments and cake stall. We will be very grateful to receive bric-a-brac and good condition books and toys from Monday 26th November and cakes on Friday 7th December.

Nativity Boxes

All classes will again be making Nativity Boxes to display in businesses around the town celebrating the Christmas Story. Please look out for them from the 3rd December as you are shopping as they are always delightful and share our Church of England School with our community.

Christmas Performances

Our Christmas productions this year are on the week of December 10th. Rehearsals will start in school from Monday 26th November. I am sure you will all appreciate how difficult it can be producing school plays, please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible if your child will be absent during any of these very busy weeks ahead.

11.12.18   – KS1(Y1/Y2) 9.30am – This is the only performance small children and babies are invited to attend.

12.12.18    Foundation Stage (Nursery/Reception) 9.30am

KS1 (Y1/Y2) 2pm

13.12.18   Foundation Stage (Nursery/Reception) 2pm

KS1 (Y1/Y2) 6pm

Due to the size of our school hall and in the interest of safety two tickets per family will be allocated initially. Each class teacher will then keep a ‘wish list’ for any extra tickets required. We always do our very best to keep this a fair process and try to accommodate everyone.

Tickets will be available from your child’s class teacher from Monday 3rd December.

Christmas Dinner & Parties

Friday 14th December will be Christmas Dinner for all pupils.

Tuesday 18th December will be Foundation Stage (Reception/Nursery) parties and Wednesday 19th December will be KS1 (Y1/Y2) parties.

Theatre

On Tuesday 18th December Reception and Year one pupils will visit the Stephen Joseph Theatre to see ‘The Night the Moon Child smiled’. At the same time our Year Two pupils will also visit the Stephen Joseph Theatre to see ‘Alice in Wonderland’

The cost of this trip will be £4.00 including the cost of the transport and an ice lolly for all the children during the interval. This can be paid via Parent Pay. If you need any help registering for this service please ask the school office.

Once again we have a busy and exciting time ahead of us. We look forward to working with you and are very appreciative of your continued support.

Kind regards

A Clark

Deputy Headteacher
