Friday 6th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

Gymnastics Competition
Wow! Ten of our Year 2 children competed in a gymnastics competition in Scarborough this week and out of thirteen teams our team came 1st!! Our school team were the overall winners in the competition with massive success in the body management routine with Ellsya winning the GOLD medal, William with the SILVER medal and Ola winning the BRONZE. It really does not get better than that! Well done to our amazing gymnastics team, we are all extremely proud.

Sport Relief
On Thursday 12th March we invite everyone to come to school wearing sports clothes and trainers. We will take part in a Sporting Mile Challenge with prizes to be won! Each class will have a collection pot for any donations you wish to make for Sports Relief.

Mental Health Champions
Well done to James D, James G, Natalie B and Evie L for representing our school at Coventry University last week for the Mental Health Awards. So many people commented on how polite, confident and articulate our children were. Such great ambassadors for our school, the Ebor Academy Trust and Filey!

World Book Day
Thank you to everyone for making such an effort on World Book Day, everyone had a wonderful day reading and sharing their favourite stories. Please check our school website for photographs taken on the day.

Musical Extravaganza
All classes (except Nursery) will perform in a Musical Extravaganza on Friday 20th March. There will be three performances 9.15am, 10.30am and 1.30pm.
Tickets will be available from your child’s class after school on Monday 9th March. Please note that due to the size of our school hall tickets will be limited to two per family and given out on a first come first served basis.

Uniform Cupboard
Our free school uniform cupboard has been very popular since its introduction in September. We of course welcome any unwanted uniform that your child no longer needs, please give to Mrs Newlove in the school office and remember to help yourself from the cupboard which is located near Miss Williams’s classroom.

Thank you for your continued support, Happy Friday!

Mrs Angela Clark
Head of School
