Dear Parents/Carers

As I am sure you are all aware the Coronavirus situation is beginning to affect many people, I would like to inform everyone that for now we will carry on as normal until further notice. We are planning on going ahead with our wonderful ‘Musical Extravaganza’ next week on Friday 20th March, however if you are feeling unwell we would ask you not to attend the performances instead you will be able to watch a film viewing at a later date. Thank you for your understanding with this matter and please read the letter over the page from Mrs Gail Brown, Chief Executive Ebor Academy Trust.

To parents and carers at all schools within Ebor Academy Trust

Dear Parent/Carer
Coronavirus Covid-19 crisis
We are all aware of the unprecedented restrictions being imposed across the country and the world as the Coronavirus Covid-19 crisis continues to spread.
Although yesterday’s Cobra meeting held by the government did not impose school closures, I am writing to advise you of our plans should it become necessary at some point to close down our schools. The government has called this the “worst public health crisis for a generation”.
While we continue to hope for the best, it is appropriate to have contingency plans in place. In the event of any shutdown, all schools across our trust will prioritise pupils in Year 5 and 6 at primary phase and Year 10 and 11 at secondary. Chromebooks, a special kind of laptop ¬that pupils use at school, will be provided on free loan to these year groups so that each child can continue to receive their education at home.
We are prioritising these children as they have SATs or GCSEs looming and we want to minimise any disruption that enforced school closure will bring. We will use technology to bridge the gap as far as possible.
Alternative arrangements will be made for children who do not have internet access available at home.
We have been closely following Public Health England’s advice and we will continue to adhere to government instruction.
Thank you for your continued support in these extraordinary times.
Yours faithfully

Mrs Gail Brown
Chief Executive and Executive Headteacher
