Dear Parents/Carers
Ofsted Report
We are delighted to be able to share our recent Ofsted Inspection Report with you. It was a rigorous but fair inspection and myself and the Governors are extremely proud of all the children and staff for making Filey CE Nursery and Infants Academy such a great place to learn and work. If anyone has any questions about the report please ask myself of your child’s class teacher.
World Book Day
This year World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March. I have, as always taken on board feedback from parents regarding costumes, so this year we invite all children and staff to dress up as any character from one of their favourite books. I look forward to seeing everyone’s choices!
Dementia Friends
Remember we have ‘Dementia Friend’ training on Monday 3rd February at either 2pm or 5pm in the school hall.
Big Red Reading Bus!!
Exciting News! Thanks to a wonderful donation from Filey Parish and a great price from Shoreline Bus Company we have bought a double decker bus! Due to the lack of spare space within our school the bus will be converted into a library for our children to enjoy. It will be kept stationary, have heating, electricity, fiction books on one floor and non-fiction books on the other. WANTED I am wanting a group of ‘handy’ dads and mums that would be interested in helping to convert our bus e.g. taking out seats, making shelves, painting and organising books etc. If this is something you would enjoy and could help with please let either myself of Mrs Newlove in the office kno
Global Partnership
We are very excited to announce that we have a partner school in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The school is called Kingdom Life International Academy and Mrs Stubbs is the link teacher. As you can imagine their school is very different to ours and it will be a great privilege to work together and get to know each other’s experiences. Mrs Stubbs will visit the school later in the year and one of their teachers will come to stay with us. Please see our school website for more information.
