Dear Parents/Carers

Ofsted

Thank you so much to all parents that completed the Ofsted parental questionnaire. We should be able to share the outcome with you in two to three weeks’ time.

Start of the School Day

Can I please express my concern over the number of children arriving late for school in a morning. Our school day starts at 8.55am with phonic lessons starting prompt at 9am.  Phonic lessons are a crucial part of your child’s education and regularly arriving late does put your child at a disadvantage. If you need help from Miss Sam Hiley our School Pastoral Support Worker. Please text or phone her direct on 07377033918.

Year 2 Recorder lessons

Year two recorder lessons will start with Miss Beaumont on Wednesday 5th February from 2.40 – 3.05pm. These lessons will then take place at the same time every Wednesday.

Swimming Lessons

Mrs Stubbs’ Year Two children and the remainder of Miss Beaumont’s class will start their swimming lessons on Thursday 23rd January until Thursday 12th March. Mrs Stubbs’ Year One children together with Miss Haldenby’s Year One   children will start their lessons on Thursday 19th March until Thursday 14th May. Mrs Williams’s class will have their lessons from the 21st May until the 9th July. Please make sure earrings are removed on your child’s swimming days.

Dementia Friends

All our school staff are ’Dementia Friend’ trained and we are very excited to be able to offer this training for parents/carers and pupils. Pupils will take part in age appropriate ‘Dementia Friend’ training during the school day later in the year. If you would like to know more about Dementia and become a ‘Dementia Friend’ please come along to a totally free 45min session on Monday 3rd February at either 2pm or 5pm in the school hall. With Dementia effecting so many people’s lives this is a great opportunity to find out more and support your children with the Intergeneration work they take part in at The Hylands Care Home.

Bank Holiday

Please note that the May Day Bank Holiday has changed due to the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. Instead of Monday 4th May school will now be closed on Friday 8th May.

Please remember to check our school website for all newsletters, dates and to see what exciting things your children are doing.

Thank you for your continued support

Mrs A Clark

Head of School
