Friday 14th February
Dear Parents/Carers
This half term has been as busy as ever with our Year 2 children learning about the Victorian era and experiencing many wonderful Victorian artefacts. Year 1 children have enjoyed learning about Space, the first moon landing and the Solar System. Everyone enjoyed yoga and massage during Children’s Mental Health Week and the Reception children paraded their dragon through school to celebrate Chinese New Year! Our Nursery children achieved a Firefighter Award during a visit from the Fire Brigade and EVERYONE contributed to a wonderful Ofsted report! Please remember to visit our school website to see all the amazing opportunities your children have in school.
Community Fridge
Please make use of the community fridge in Filey if you can during the half term holiday. The aim of the community Fridge is to reduce food waste, it opened on 26th July 2019 and has had lots of support from local businesses and the local community. It is not a food bank and the fridge is accessible to anybody regardless of need, they have people accessing it who have a genuine need combined with other people who have a desire to reduce food waste, they even have people swapping food items so they don’t have to throw anything away. This really is a great way to help the community and care for the environment.
P.E. Lessons
After the half term holiday Mr Ellis will be teaching gymnastics to the Reception classes so they will need a white t-shirt and black or navy blue shorts. Children will not need plimsolls or trainers because gymnastics lessons require bare feet, however earrings will need to be removed on Thursday mornings before the lesson.
Dogs!
Please can I remind everyone that dogs are NOT permitted on school grounds even if they are well behaved and immensely cute!
Thank you for your continued support and I hope you all have a wonderful half term holiday.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Mrs Angela Clark
Head of School
