18th July 2019
I hope you are all enjoying the good weather and that it will continue well into the school holiday
It was lovely to see so many of you last week at our annual Summer Fair. The weather was better than we anticipated earlier in the day but the atmosphere was just as good indoors and raised an amazing £920.00 to support your children. Thank you and well done to everyone.
As our Year two leavers prepare to move to the Junior School with a farewell ‘Leavers Disco’ tonight and ‘Leavers Assembly’ tomorrow, we wish them lots of success for the future.
They have been wonderful ambassadors for our school in sports competitions, at the Stephen Joseph Theatre and in the work they have done as part of the ‘Butterfly Project‘ at the Hylands Care Home. We will miss them all.
This school year concludes tomorrow with our ‘Annual Family Picnic’ Year Two parents are invited to join us for the ‘Leavers Assembly’ at 11am and all parents are invited to join us at 11.45am for the Family Picnic. Year Two parents should arrive at the main entrance and all other parents should arrive at the normal collection gates and find a place on the field and staff will then bring the children to you.
We look forward to seeing you at these events and would remind you that school closes at 2.15pm on Friday 19th July and reopens at 8.30am on Tuesday 3rd September 2019.
As I take my final farewell into retirement I would like to thank you all for your support of the school over the last 8 years and for the lovely cards and messages received this week. The children presented me with a delightful surprise of song, poetry, prayer, dance and rhyme on Tuesday afternoon.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with you all and I wish yourselves and the children all the very best for the future and leave you in the very capable hands of Mrs Clark as your new headteacher and our dedicated staff.
Myself and the staff wish you all a happy and relaxing summer and thank you for your continuing support.
With kind regards and best wishes
