We teach science through an engaging, cross curricular approach, providing opportunities for practical, first-hand experiences for pupils. Wherever possible the local environment is used to enhance our children’s learning experience. Pupils explore, make observations, ask questions and develop their scientific knowledge alongside developing their scientific enquiry skills. Pupils gain confidence in using the correct scientific vocabulary to discuss their scientific understanding. Staff use the 2014 National Curriculum for Science in Key Stage One and the Early Years Statutory Framework (2023) in the Early Years Foundation Stage to plan a high-quality science education.
