PE Intent, Implementation and Impact
PE Substantive Knowledge
The declarative knowledge of basic skills used across all of P.E. such as knowing different types of jumps.
The procedural knowledge in movement including practical knowledge such as participating in team games or performing a series of movements in order.
PE Disciplinary knowledge
The knowledge of applying basic skills through purposeful play, experimentation and observation. This enables pupils to compete, improve, enjoy, and lead healthy lifestyles.
Pupils’ declarative and procedural knowledge becomes increasingly complex year on year which is reflected in our Beyond the Physical scheme of work.
