Postcards from a Far Away Land

Year One have been working hard this week to make their role-play areas. Mr Jackson’s class are creating the North Pole and Mrs Stubbs’ class are creating a Time Traveling Post Box. Our topic this half term is ‘Postcards from a far away land’ and we are very excited to be exploring this in lots of detail. We have received a postcard from different countries, which is very exciting! In celebration of Diwali, Mr Jackson’s class spent the day learning about the Hindu festival of light, whilst taking part in Diwali preparation. The children learnt of the story of Rama and Sita, created their own Rangoli pattern pictures and also took part in some traditional dancing- a great day with lots of learning! Mrs Stubbs’ class have been following the adventures of the traveling Post man and have done lots of great work about it! Some of Year One have also started attending ‘Multi Skills’ club on a Thursday!
