Dear Parents/Carers,

This half term has already been a very busy one with some of our KS1 pupils meeting actors at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, our Reception children visiting Flamingoland and our KS1 Athletics Team competing in the annual Quadkids competition at Bramcote playing field. They took part in four events – a 1 lap run, long jump, javelin throw and a sprint. Our ‘A’ team won the KS1 competition beating all the other infant teams in the Scarborough area. Well done to all who represented the school.

We also have new arrivals! I know many of you have shared our Y1 pupils ‘awe and wonder’ as we watched each of the ducklings hatch. They are all doing well and growing quickly.

Mrs Stubbs class won the film festival competition and are today in York celebrating the big screen premier of their work at the York Film Fest at the York City Screen.

Y2 TRANSITION DAYS

Year Two Transition to Junior School will be on the 4th and 5th July. On Wednesday 4th July Y2 pupils come to the Infants School and our staff take them to the Junior School to meet their teachers. At the end of the day, 4th July, parents collect Y2 pupils from the Junior School. Parents leave Y2 pupils at the Junior School on Thursday 5th July and Junior staff bring them back to school in the afternoon for you to collect as normal.

WHOLE SCHOOL TRANSISTION DAY

Thursday 5th July is the whole school transition where pupils move to their new classes for the day. Please bring your child to their current classroom and collect them from there at the end of the day. School staff will transition the pupils during the day.

OPEN EVENING

Open Evening will be on Tuesday 3rd July 2018 at 5pm – 7pm. This is an opportunity to see pupils work and visit their new classes for September 2018. If you require an individual appointment please speak to class teachers.

SUMMER FAIR

This year our Summer Fair will be on Wednesday 11th July at 3pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

STEPHEN JOSEPH THEATRE PLAYWRIGHT

Some of our KS1 pupils will have their own stories performed by professional actors at the Stephen Joseph Theatre on the evening of Monday 16th July. This is a very exciting opportunity for all pupils and a unique experience for them.

LEAVERS DISCO

Our Y2 Leavers Disco will be held on 19th July 5.30pm to 7pm. More details to follow.

LEAVERS ASSEMBLY/FAMILY PICNIC

Our leavers assembly for Y2 parents and family picnic for all parents will be on Friday 20th July.

Year Two parents are invited to join us at 11am for the Leavers Assembly and all parents are invited to join us at 11.45am for the Family Picnic.
