Dear Parents/Carers

COMIC RELIEF

Thank you for all your support for ‘Red Nose Day’ which raised an amazing £219.54 from the children for Comic Relief. Well done everyone.

KS1 OUTDOOR EDUCATION DAY

Our Year Two pupils will be visiting Dalby Forest tomorrow Thursday 30th March as a day of ‘Learning outside the Classroom’.

Our Year One pupils will have their ‘Learning outside the Classroom’ experience on Thursday 6th April as they visit Peasholm Park and Glen.

EARLY YEARS 30 HOUR PROVISION

Applications for 30 hours Early Years Provision remain open until Friday 31st March 2017 for all eligible parents. School administration staff are happy to support your application process if requested.

ACADEMISATION

I am pleased to inform you that the conversion process is now complete and we will formally convert to an Academy within the Ebor Academy Trust on Saturday 1st April 2017. The Trust will then be 9 schools with more joining by September 2017. Governors and staff are excited at the new opportunities to further develop and ensure the very best provision for all of our pupils.

Y1 MATHS WORKSHOP

Following on from our Phonics Workshop Meetings we invite all Year One parents to join us for a Maths Workshop with ideas to develop children’s enjoyment and learning in Maths.

These workshops will be held at:

2.20pm Thursday 27th April
5.00pm Thursday 27th April

A free resource pack will be provided to all attending the meeting.

ENTERPRISE

Reception classes have exciting Enterprise organised and invite class parents:

2.20pm Tuesday 4th April – Mrs Stubb’s class – ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’
2.20pm Wednesday 5th April – Mrs Kerr’s class – ‘The Three Little Pigs at Easter’

EASTER EGG RAFFLE

We are again holding our Easter Egg Raffle and it will be drawn on Friday 7th April. Tickets are attached. Please return them to school by Thursday 6th April.

DECORATED EASTER EGG COMPETITION

We will hold our annual Decorated Egg Competition on Friday 7th April and they will be judged during the day with prizes for every class. This year we have different themes:

Y2 – ‘Famous People’
Y1 – ‘Creature Comforts’
Reception & Nursery – ‘Spring to Life’

EASTER BONNET PARADE

The children are invited to make an Easter Bonnet to wear on Friday 7th April. They will parade through the school and parents are invited to join us at 2.30pm in your child’s classroom to see the Easter Parade. Entrance is by the normal end of school day gates.

EASTER BREAK

School closes for the Easter holiday at 3.05pm, on Friday 7th April and re-opens at 8.55am on Tuesday 25th April.
