Dear Parents/Carers

As we come to the end of a busy half term in school I would like to thank you for your continued support.

Our annual sponsored walk totaled £909.35 which will pay for coaches to the theater and other Christmas festivities in school.

All the wonderful Harvest Festival produce was shared between St John’s Church, The Elderly Peoples Club in Filey, Silver Birches Care Home, Hylands Retirement Home and as always some of our YR2 children made many of our elderly neighbors smile with their Harvest deliveries.

Remembrance Day

On Monday 12th November at 11am our Year 2 children have been invited by Filey Town Council to attend a remembrance service at Filey Memorial gardens. Children will plant poppies they have made at school and sing a special song.

Children in Need Friday 16th November

This year we invite children and staff to come to school wearing pyjamas to raise money for Children In Need. Each class will have a money collection pot for any donations you would like to make.

Application For Free School Meals & Pupil Premium Funding

We need information about you and your child, so that we can provide them with the best education and support by making sure as a school we receive all the government funding to which we are entitled. If you receive Universal Credit, Child Tax Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or Income-related Employment and Support Allowance your child may be entitled to free school meals and pupil premium funding. Please ask Mrs Newlove in our School office for a form.

 Medical Updates

If your child has recently been diagnosed with a medical condition or no longer has a condition previously reported to school please could you update Mrs Newlove in our school office.

Attendance

If your child is not going to be in school it is important that you contact us before 11 am on the day of absence to prevent a legally required welfare call being made to the North Yorkshire Police Service.

Parent Pay

You should all have received your parent pay log in details. This can be used to pay for Nursery fees, Nursery dinner money and any school trips requesting voluntary contributions. If you have any problems with activating your parent pay account please ask and we will try to help!

We have an ‘open door’ policy in school and do try our very best to make your children’s time here with us at Filey C of E Nursery and Infants Academy a happy time.

If you have any concerns that we can help with please come and talk to your child’s class teacher or myself to try and avoid any unpleasant social media comments.

Thank you once again for your generous support and I wish you all a happy half term, school reopens on Monday 5th November 2018.

Kind regards

Mrs A Clark
