“Whats under the bed?”

As scientists we have used the book “Whats under the bed?” to investigate each layer of the earth’s surface from ‘wires and pipes’ all the way to the ‘coal’ layer.
We investigated “what is soil made of?” creating a soil profile.
We made clay floor tiles with symmetrical patterns engraved into it.
We also used clay to make fossil imprints and when we reached coal we drew our silhouette using charcoal.
We also enjoyed a busy day at Ripon Museum where we experienced activities as undertaken by children in Victorian times.
