New Year Excitement

What an exciting start to the New Year!
We had a wonderful provocation to initiate learning today when the ambulance station next door became a busy construction site.
The children were fascinated as they watched cranes lifting Portakabins across the fence. This generated much conversation and enabled us to discuss many mathematical concepts including height, weight and measure.
The children have also really enjoyed building on a large scale using pulleys and ropes to position their large blocks and crates.
We cannot wait to see what happens next!
